In April of 2013, Colorado College hosted a momentous entrepreneurial event for its students. The Big Idea was a pitch event where Colorado College students presented their project idea before a panel of five judges in order to compete for $50,000 in funding towards the project. The panel reviewed the project ideas based on financial stability, effect on quality of life, feasibility and presentation, and the potential impact of the project on the world. In this video clip, entrepreneurs Lauren Schneider and Kathleen Callahan present their Big Idea, TeachBook.
"TeachBook is a collaborative instructional tool for teachers to use on a micro and macro level. On this website, teachers and principals will have the ability to post and retrieve videos, worksheets, and other curriculum ideas. Additionally, there will be opportunities for professional development, so they can be most knowledgeable on the latest educational trends and laws. After the first year, individual teachers must pay a yearly subscription (~$20) to maintain their account."--Business proposal
